Saf-T-Gard International, Inc., a family-owned and operated global manufacturer, supplier, importer and exporter of industrial safety products, is doing its part to aid in the natural disaster remediation by supplying thousands of personal safety products to help protect recovery workers.

Safety is critical in the aftermath of a hurricane, as cleanup and recovery activities involve hazards that can cause serious injuries and death. Exposure to contaminated floodwaters, heat stress, electrical hazards, zoonotic hazards (insects, snakes, etc.) and power equipment/heavy machinery require the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Realizing the urgent need for recovery worker protection, Saf-T-Gard teamed with the GOOD360 charitable organization to identify which of their safety products could best help. The end result was a sizable donation of the company's disposable coveralls, gloves and boots to provide the workers with the necessary barrier protection when working in contaminated waters or widespread flooding.

Additionally, the Voltgard Division of Saf-T-Gard International, Inc. is uniting with several electrical contractors to help ensure the electrical safety of the cleanup workers in Florida, Texas and the Caribbean by supplying the necessary safety products. Electrical safety is a particular strength of Saf-T-Gard International, as Voltgard operates as an offsite NAIL4PET-accredited test lab for numerous utilities, telecom companies, contractors, municipalities and industrial facilities nationwide. Moreover, as a leading manufacturer and distributor of rubber insulating products, arc flash safety clothing and kits, grounding equipment and testing services, Voltgard is dedicated to serving those where worker safety and protection from electrical current are critically important.

"With the nature of our business, both Saf-T-Gard and Voltgard are in a unique position to help in the hurricane recovery and rebuild efforts, and we believe it is our duty to do so," said Richard Rivkin, President and CEO, Saf-T-Gard International. "We are committed to supporting the community's need for protection during this time and beyond. None of us will forget the devastation of Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria anytime soon, and like everyone, those affected are in our thoughts and prayers."

About Good360

Good360 is an international nonprofit that works with companies, charities and individuals to make the business of giving simpler, more efficient and more effective. The Alexandria, Va.-based organization was created in 1983 to help companies efficiently donate slow-moving, obsolete and seasonal inventory to charitable organizations. These donated products including new, nonperishable goods such as apparel, books, toys, personal care products, office and school supplies, computers and much more are distributed to Good360's pre-vetted nonprofit network encompassing about 40,000 organizations. Today, Good360 is changing the face of philanthropy by creating a Circle of Good that allows companies, nonprofits and individuals to work together to do more social good. The organization is accomplishing this through new technology such as its GivingPlace platform and the launch of its Disaster Recovery360 platform. Good360 has been recognized by the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy, Verizon's Powerful Answers Awards and Forbes for its excellence, innovation and efficiency, respectively, in helping all of its partners do good, better.
